'Living a Nightmare': Relatives of Missing Young People Desperately Seek Answers After Ski Resort Blaze

The families of young people unaccounted for after a tragic inferno at a bar in a Swiss ski resort are confronting an painful wait for answers and appealing for clues about their children publicly.

The inferno engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Verified video depict the roof structure being engulfed in flames as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have warned that it could take an extended period to formally name the fatalities of the disaster, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and wounded another scores more. A spokesperson stated on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with efforts ongoing to identify the remaining few.

In the interim, loved ones have been posting on the internet to request any news about their loved ones who were at the bar that night.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are not yet determined, according to an public plea from his parent.

The who lives of a town near Lausanne, informed a local newspaper that she had gone back to the city to check whether he was in the hospital, while his father did the same in Bern, but was unsuccessful.

"It feels like a terrible dream, a nightmare. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in intensive care. It's terrible," she stated.

She continued that some of his friends had been located with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they experienced a terrifying ordeal."

The Italy's government has said that a number of of its young people are still unaccounted for.

Junior golfer Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, who hailed from Genoa but now residing in Dubai.

The Italian Golf Federation has stated that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "talented young man who represented passion and true sportsmanship."

His parent, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around the new year. An official spokesperson has stated that a formal confirmation of his death is still pending.

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also among the missing. His mother told reporters that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with friends and found himself at the bar.

"Someone with him said they ran away after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he couldn't see him anymore," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his teachers said, "I've always been struck by his kindness and smile, alongside great maturity. Often ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss nationality but lives full-time in the country, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has published an urgent request online, saying the relatives has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Officials from her other nation say they are closely watching the situation.
