Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
