Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
